Oli grezzi
Si tratta di un termine molto generico per indicare gli oli non raffinati che vengono tipicamente recuperati dal terreno. Alcuni tipi di petrolio greggio possono contenere particolato proveniente dal pozzo o dal metodo di recupero. Sono considerati liquidi infiammabili. Il petrolio grezzo viene successivamente raffinato e utilizzato per qualsiasi cosa, dalla produzione di plastica alla benzina.
Combustibili raffinati
I carburanti raffinati comprendono gli oli combustibili a base di petrolio e alcuni jet fuel. La loro viscosità e la temperatura gestita possono variare notevolmente. Normalmente vengono gestiti in operazioni di trasferimento alla rinfusa.
Miscela di oli lubrificanti
Gli impianti di miscelazione locali prendono oli base di petrolio o sintetici sfusi e li mescolano con additivi per creare miscele di oli uniche per applicazioni e clienti specifici.
Liquidi di trasferimento del calore (olio caldo)
I liquidi per il trasferimento di calore, l'olio per il trasferimento di calore (HTO) o olio caldo, sono generalmente composti da uno dei seguenti elementi: olio minerale, difenili, terfenili modificati o polialchilenglicoli.
