At Viking Pump®, we are taking actionable steps to reduce our impact on the environment and reduce our footprint where we operate whenever possible. From energy to waste reduction, water consumption and facility improvements, we consider it to be our responsibility to preserve the world around us for future generations, while meeting customer and stakeholder expectations.

FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS

We’re proud to be making meaningful strides in enhancing our facilities with sustainability and community in mind. From preserving local ecosystems through a small wetlands project and installing bat houses to support native wildlife, to upgrading all our facilities with energy-efficient LED lighting, these improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible innovation.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION

We’ve taken a major step forward in energy efficiency by implementing a fully automated environmental monitoring system across our facilities. This smart technology allows us to track and optimize energy usage in real time, reducing waste, improving operational performance, and supporting our sustainability goals. It’s a powerful example of how innovation can drive both environmental responsibility and long-term cost savings.

WATER CONSUMPTION

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve taken significant steps to reduce our environmental footprint—most notably by cutting our water usage by an estimated 3 million gallons annually. This impactful change not only conserves a vital natural resource but also reflects our dedication to responsible operations and long-term environmental stewardship.

WASTE REDUCTION

We’re making impactful progress in reducing landfill waste and promoting more sustainable practices across our operations. Each year, we’re keeping over 100,000 pounds of general waste and an additional 275,000 pounds of foundry waste out of landfills. These efforts not only minimize our environmental impact but also demonstrate our commitment to smarter resource management and a cleaner future.

IDEX GREEN CERTIFIED

To be certified as an IDEX Green business, the IDEX Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) reviews the business against certain criteria including (but not limited to):

Demonstrate an understanding of our current environmental footprint
Install 100% LED lighting
Have at least one program in place to recycle, reduce waste, and/or reduce water consumption

Businesses undergo an annual review in Q3 to update their certification.
