Cell Broth
Cell Broth
Custom Content One
Cell broths consist of the cultivation media (cells, nutrients and other components) that make up the content of a microbial bioreactor to process biopharmaceutical products.
Hygienic positive displacement pumps are ideal for manufacturing cell broth due to their ability to handle delicate fluids with care, maintaining the integrity of the cells throughout the pumping process. These pumps are designed to operate gently, minimizing shear and turbulence that could damage cell structures. Additionally, they are highly efficient in transferring high-viscosity liquids and can handle suspensions containing solid particles, which are often present in cell broth. Their design allows for easy cleaning and sterilization, which is crucial in maintaining hygienic conditions and preventing contamination in biopharmaceutical processes. This makes them particularly suitable for applications where maintaining the purity and quality of the product is of utmost importance.

There are really four main types of suppliers of hygienic, or sanitary pumps for food and pharmaceutical applications. There is no best source for everyone – each has advantages and disadvantages depending on your situation and budget. Here are some points to consider when choosing where to source your pumps.
Viscosity is a measure of a liquid’s resistance to flow. And you don’t need to work in a laboratory to observe this. Anyone who’s spent any time in the kitchen has observed a variety of liquids with a wide variety of viscosities.
