Klister
Lim är en grupp ämnen, t.ex. cement, lim, slem och pasta, som kan hålla samman material genom att fästa på ytan. Lim tillverkas av många olika grundmaterial, bland annat dextrin, latex, silikoner, flytande gummi, harts, natriumsilikat och stärkelse.
Tvål med svart sprit
Svartlutsåpa är en naturlig biprodukt vid kraftmassatillverkning och består av kolofonium och fettsyror som flyter upp till ytan när svartluten får sedimentera. Det skummas av och kan användas som råmaterial för talloljeproduktion. Svartlutsåpa kan vara något slipande och har en viskositet på mellan 22 och 5500 cP, beroende på vilken temperatur den hanteras vid.
Tätningar
Fogmassor kan vara silikon-, akryl- eller latexbaserade lim och tätningsmedel som används inom industri och husbyggnad. Vanligtvis hög viskositet och skjuvkänsliga.
Fetter
Vanligen benämnt smörjfett, fordonsfett eller lagerfett. I allmänhet blandningar av en mineralolja med en eller flera metalliska tvålar; de vanligaste är natrium, kalcium, barium, aluminium, bly, litium, kalium och zink. Fettets konsistens kan vara slät, smörig, repig, fibrös, svampig eller gummiaktig och har en mängd olika viskositeter.
Isocyanat
Även känd som TDI, MDI eller diisocyanat. Isocyanat används som härdare i polyuretanskum, industriella beläggningar, elastomerer, tryckfärger och hartser. Det är extremt känsligt för fukt i luften och kolväten, vilket gör lufttäta tätningsalternativ extremt kritiska.
