Sapone al liquore nero
Sottoprodotto intermedio naturale della pasta kraft, il sapone di black liquor è il contenuto di colofonia e acidi grassi che galleggia in alto quando il black liquor viene lasciato depositare. Viene scremato e può essere utilizzato come materia prima per la produzione di tall oil. Il sapone di Black Liquor può essere piuttosto abrasivo e la sua viscosità varia da 22 a 5500 cP, a seconda della temperatura a cui viene trattato.
Creme
Le creme sono tipicamente destinate all'uso personale dei consumatori per trattamenti cosmetici e medici di superficie. Le proprietà fisiche e chimiche possono variare notevolmente a seconda della base della crema e dei sostituti aggiunti. Alcune creme sono a base di petrolio, come il grasso di petrolio, mentre altre possono essere emulsioni sospese in acqua. In genere si tratta di miscele che diluiscono al taglio.
Grassi
Comunemente chiamato grasso lubrificante, per autoveicoli o per cuscinetti. Generalmente si tratta di miscele di un olio minerale con uno o più saponi metallici; i più comuni sono quelli di sodio, calcio, bario, alluminio, piombo, litio, potassio e zinco. La consistenza del grasso può essere liscia, burrosa, rugosa, fibrosa, spugnosa o gommosa e presenta una varietà di viscosità.
Lozioni
Le lozioni sono tipicamente destinate all'uso personale dei consumatori per scopi cosmetici. La maggior parte delle lozioni viene utilizzata per ammorbidire o idratare la pelle. Alcune lozioni sono utilizzate anche per somministrare farmaci alla pelle integra. In genere si tratta di emulsioni con olio in sospensione nell'acqua e che si diluiscono al taglio.
