Viking Pump, a business unit of IDEX Corporation (NYSE: IEX), was founded on a unique pump principle invented by Jens Nielsen, who had emigrated from Denmark to Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1870. He established a limestone quarry in 1886 at 18th and Main streets. When water seepage became a problem, he developed the first Rotary Internal Gear pump to drain the quarry. For close to 100 years, we have continued to build on our ever growing experience delivering innovative new pumping solutions, including custom designs, to many thousands of customers who use millions of Viking pumps in some of the world's toughest applications. Dedicated Viking foundries supply quality castings and our manufacturing facilities utilize state-of-the-art CNC equipment to assure unmatched quality is built into every pump. Viking pumps are individually produced and hand assembled by expert craftsmen to each application requirement for superior quality and enhanced pump/application interface.

As our Project Engineer, based in Cedar Falls, IA, you will have the responsibility to conceptualize and develop designs for new or derived products.  The ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and assignments simultaneously using project planning and management skills will be critical to your success.  Using your background in good judgment and technical insight will enable you to be effective in problem solving in each stage of product development.  You will be expected to meet program/project schedules, cost targets and technical requirements by working with Sales, Marketing and our customers to ensure the product solution meets the customer’s expectations and requirements.

As part of the new product development process, you will be expected to generate and document product design and development records in accordance with company product development procedures and guidelines.  You are responsible for developing the test plans for product development and design validation.  You will also support the implementation of the new product designs through all manufacturing processes.

You will use your highly effective communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal) to prepare and present project and technical design reviews, both internally to the new product management team and externally to customers.  You will also provide technical consultation with factory and field company personnel, customers, and distributors.

As an industry leader, we will provide you with an excellent salary, benefits plan, pension plan, and 401(k) savings plan.  A drug test will be part of the post-offer, pre-placement physical. An equal opportunity employer m/f/d/v.
