
Director of Marketing
Job Location: Cedar Falls, Iowa
Summary: The Director of Marketing’s primary responsibility is to develop strategic and tactical plans related to targeted market segments and product, service and solutions offerings for Viking’s worldwide operations. The Director will work closely with product engineering to develop new products and their introduction to the marketplace. The long-term strategic focus of Viking Pump is to be a market driven company.
The Position Responsibility
Develops strategic and tactical plans on new business and product development for all companies in the Business Unit through VOC.
Estimates market size and growth through appropriate data.
Provides top management with market value estimates and conditions
Determines product requirements and works with sales and engineering toward implementation
Prioritize new product opportunities and recommends development plans
Reviews recommendations and is responsible for deciding the direction of development
Surveys present and projected needs of customer, working closely with top Sales and Engineering executives, sets plan for penetration of existing market or new markets with existing or new products
Oversees the development and execution of sales promotion and advertising plans, including all support literature
Ensures sales plans, strategies, objectives and policies have strong alignment with our broad marketing objectives
Reviews markets on a regular basis and provides written analyses of market share and competitive strategies worldwide
Conduct Performance Appraisals with reporting associates at least yearly setting goals and objectives, and reviewing training needs
Oversees final review of any literature on approved products to ensure regulatory & safety compliance.

Education, Experience and Skills
BA / B.S. degree in one of the following: Marketing, Engineering or Industrial Technology
